Privacy Policy
Effective August 28, 2026
Horizon Mesquite is a small company. We treat your information the way we would want ours treated: we collect very little, we use it for exactly what we said we would, and we never sell it.
This policy explains what we collect on horizonmesquite.com, why, and what your choices are. It is written to be read.
Who we are
Horizon Mesquite Inc., a Delaware corporation, operates this website. When this policy says “we,” that is who it means. You can reach us at hello@horizonmesquite.com.
What we collect
At this stage, the site does two things: it introduces our work, and it keeps a list of people who want to be first in line. So we collect very little.
Your email address, if you choose to join the list, and your first name if you care to give it. Once you have joined we ask two further questions, both optional: which size you would choose first, and which country you are in. They only help us plan the first run, and skipping them changes nothing. Joining is voluntary, and you can leave at any moment using the unsubscribe link in any email we send.
Usage data, if you allow analytics cookies. Google Analytics assigns your browser a random identifier and uses it to tell us things like which pages are read, roughly where visitors come from, and whether someone has visited before. The identifier is not linked to your name or your email address, and we do not enable the features that would let Google use it for advertising or follow you to other websites. It helps us understand what is worth writing more of. Details are in our Cookie Policy. If you decline, we collect none of it and the site works exactly the same.
Advertising data, if you allow marketing cookies. We use the Meta (Facebook) pixel and the TikTok pixel to measure how our advertising performs, for example whether a visit or a waitlist signup followed from an advert. When you consent, each pixel shares those events with its network so we can understand and improve our campaigns. They load only after you accept marketing cookies, and never before. With that same consent, our server sends Meta and TikTok a matching report when someone joins the list, so the signup is still counted when an ad blocker or a browser privacy setting stops the report from your browser. That report identifies you only by a scrambled form of your email address, produced by a one-way process that neither can reverse. Your first name and your answers to the two optional questions are never sent to Meta or TikTok. Details are in our Cookie Policy.
Technical logs. Like almost every website, our hosting infrastructure records standard technical data (IP address, browser type, pages requested) for security and reliability. These logs are kept briefly and are not used to profile you.
We do not ask for your address, your phone number, or anything about your health, and the first name we invite is optional. Apart from the Meta and TikTok advertising measurement described above, which runs only with your consent, we use no advertising trackers, and we never sell your information.
How we use your information
Your email address is used for one purpose: to write to you about Horizon. Launch news, the occasional letter, and first access when the product is ready. We aim for restraint in your inbox as much as anywhere else.
Usage data is used in aggregate to understand how the site is read. It is never tied to your email address.
We do not sell your personal information to anyone. With your consent, we use the Meta and TikTok pixels and a matching report from our own server for advertising measurement: together they tell Meta and TikTok when a visit or a waitlist signup happened, so we can see how our campaigns perform and reach people like you. All of it runs only if you accept marketing cookies, you can withdraw at any time through Cookie preferences, and selling your data remains off the table.
Who handles your data on our behalf
We use a small number of service providers to run the site, each bound by their own privacy obligations and acting only on our instructions: Klaviyo (email list and sending), Google Analytics (usage measurement, only with your consent), Meta and TikTok (advertising measurement, only with your consent), Vercel (hosting), and Cloudflare (network and security). With your consent, Meta and TikTok receive the pixel events and the matching server reports described above, and may use them to deliver and measure advertising; the others act only for us and not for their own marketing.
How long we keep it
Your email address stays on the list until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, at which point it is removed from our active systems. Analytics data is retained for 14 months. Technical logs are kept for a short operational window and then discarded.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@horizonmesquite.com and we will respond within 30 days. We will never treat you differently for exercising these rights.
If you are in California or another US state with a privacy law, you have the right to know, access, correct, and delete personal information, and the right to opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell your personal information. Sharing for advertising happens only through the Meta and TikTok advertising measurement described above, the pixels in your browser and the matching reports from our server, and only if you accept marketing cookies; you can opt out at any time by choosing Essential only in Cookie preferences.
If you are in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you additionally have the rights to restrict or object to processing, to data portability, and to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority. Our legal bases are consent (for the waitlist, analytics cookies, and marketing cookies) and legitimate interest (for security logs). Your data is processed in the United States; our providers rely on recognized transfer mechanisms, including the EU-US Data Privacy Framework where certified.
Children
The site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has joined our list, write to us and we will remove them.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will note the new effective date here and, if the change affects how we use your email address, tell you by email before it takes effect.
